About Us
The JobHunters Inc. - The Canadian Federal Government Job Specialists - is a unique, boutique-style career coaching and counselling firm specializing in the Federal Public Service. We offer a wide range of government-specific career services including job-hunting assistance, seminars and workshops, resume and cover-letter writing, interview and exam preps, career assessments and one-on-one personalized consultations.
We are not a staffing agency. We don't make money from skimming paycheques. Rather, we provide valuable career coaching assistance for people looking to land their own positions in the Federal Public Service.
We are current and ex-government employees who have developed The JobHunters after recognizing the need for expert, affordable and accessible career coaching services that specialize in the Federal Public Service. Our experiences from both ends of the hiring process is put to work in providing personalized assistance and advice for our clients.

Farhia Ahmed began her public service career soon after her university graduation as a casual employee at the Department of Northern and Indian Affairs. She successfully morphed that opportunity into a career that has spanned over 10 years in the Federal Public Service. In that time, she has held numerous positions in various departments, mostly in the areas of policy and program management. She has also held managerial and supervisory roles that have allowed her the opportunity to run staffing competitions and award government contracts.
Utilizing her knowledge and experiences of the Federal Public Service hiring process from both ends of the spectrum, Farhia would go on to develop strategies and methodologies that she used to assist numerous friends and colleagues win their own competitions and promotions. After a string of successes, and bouyed by the encouragement of those she helped, Farhia realized that there existed a need for expert and affordable career coaching services specializing in the Federal Public Service that were designed for and accessible to the general public. As a result, in 2008, she started the JobHunters.
An award winning public servant, in 2003, Farhia was bestowed a pretigious Certificate of Recognition from the Minister of Canadian Heritage for her contributions to the Minister's Forum on Diversity and Culture. She has also been recognized as part of two seperate teams that were each awarded the Deputy Minister's Award for their collective achievements. Recently, she competed for and was awarded a highly coveted position in an accelerated managerial development program at Canadian Heritage.
Farhia holds a degree from the University of Ottawa in Communications and Public Management. She is also a Certified Public Relations Consultant through Algonquin College.
Farhia currently is on maternity leave from her position as a Senior Analyst at Canadian Heritage. She lives and works in Ottawa with her husband and three children

An Honors graduate in Communications from the University of Ottawa, Annelie Caron is a people’s person that brings a breadth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the JobHunters. She is fluently bilingual and is an expert in Human Resources.
A public servant with over 7 years experience, Annelie has developed a profound grasp and understanding of the Federal Public Service hiring process. She has worked as an Employment Specialist for Human Resources and Social Development Canada and has held positions at Transport Canada and the National Research Council. At present, she works as a Communications Advisor at DND.
Annelie currently lives and work in the National Capital Region.
